I have this board and honestly I love it. My problem that I'm having is this.
My system is simple. I won't go too into detail.
Z170X Gaming 7
Intel I7 6700K (Coolermaster Hyper 212)
Corsair Vengence 32GB DDR4 2400
nVidia GTX-750 Ti SC
EVGA Supernova 750w
Win10 Pro x64
Drivers all up to date, bios at F6
My sound is simple, I don't game on the system. I have the audio running from Line Out through a 3.5mm to 2x 1/4 TRS plugs into a passive sound control knob and from that into two Behringer Studio Monitors. I like my music.
Sometimes when I turn on the PC there's no sound at all. Reboot doesn't fix it. But if I unplug the jack and plug it back in, the sound works and boy does it drive these monitors! I'm wondering if the passive audio knob has something to do with it? I have the gain switch on the MB turned on to the higher output, so the monitors get fed well. Thinking of switching it down and maybe removing the knob, since I can control the audio from my keyboard so easily.
Does anyone else have this issue at all? With no audio till you unplug and plug the jack back in? I'll troubleshoot and maybe update the thread if I remember.
Anyone?
**UPDATE**
So I shut the PC down and switched the gain to normal, turned up the knob to max to prevent any resistance feedback or something. No audio! But I did what I read in another post and switched from Headphone to Speaker and poof... Sound came back just fine. iTunes is open and sounds great.
PS I hate the SBX Pro Studio, it really makes everything over driven and sounds like crap. I shut it off.
So... Switching to Headphones and back to Speakers is making it come back. FYI I had my Headphone/Mic jacks on my case plugged into the header on the MB before (HD Audio, not AC'97) and unplugged it before I wrote on this forum. I read that could be an issue but it didn't make a difference either.
