GA-F2A88XN-WIFI (3.0) + A10-7860K = random crashes
« on: January 05, 2017, 06:37:20 am »
I've purchased new AMD processor (A10-7860K) couple of weeks ago. Since then my computer became unstable: random restarts, freezes, and blue screens. Before that I used A10-6700T without any problems. I tried two different power supplies, the result was the same - random crashes. My memory is in officially supported list and I had no troubles with it when I used previous processor. The BIOS version is latest (it was updated since it was released). I use APU's inbuilt graphic card. APU drivers are of latest version from AMD website.

Thank you for your help in advance!

A few things to try:

- clear the bios and load optimized defaults
- reinstall video driver
- run memory test program, such as Memtest
- check CPU temperature using a suitable utility

If none of this works, I'd then try booting a live Linux distribution (such as Knoppix) from a CD or memory stick and  see if this allows reliable operation of the computer.

The problem is the Ram... It's unstable for the ram.... Not drivers, bios..... bla,bla,bla... Try to set at 1333 and tell us if it's unstable...
Here it's me:

Thank you all guys for your help! And sorry for delay. My computer was in repairs being tested.
The memory is reliable it was tested in several rigs as well as cpu and psu. It turned out it was a motherboard factory defect. I replaced it with "Asrock A88M-G/3.1" and it works so far.
Several months ago I created a topic concerning problems with virtualization in my motherboard (GA-F2A88XN-WIFI); virtualization was enabled in BIOS, but it didn't work (two cpus were tested -- A10-6700T and A10-7860K). Now it works with my new motherboard. I hope that the problem won't appear again.

Thank you for your help! Happy Old New Year everybody!

It's not so simple as I thought with virtualization. It looks like Avast Free Antivirus blocks virtualization, because before installing of the antivirus "havdetectiontool", "AMD-V_Hyper-V_Compatibility_Check_Utility_V2" displayed that my cpu supports hardware virtualization and it's enabled. After installation of the antivirus they said that cpu supports hardware virtualization, but it's not enabled.
