Hi there,
Just wondering, but which ECC memory modules were you trying to use? I've been having this same issue with Crucial's CT4K16G4RFD4213 modules. I too get debug code 55, though how long it takes to appear depends on how many memory modules are inserted.
What I've tried first:
a) Powering on with two DIMMs in slots 1 and 3 only.
b) Powering on with two DIMMs in slots 2 and 4 only.
c) Powering on with a single DIMM in slot 1.
d) Powering on with a single DIMM in slot 3.
e) Powering on with no DIMMs at all.
f) Re-seating the CPU to be sure it's in place properly, including the cooler.
g) Switching between single and double BIOS/UEFI.
h) Clearing the CMOS.
i) Double-checking all the PSU cables are in place, especially the ATX and CPU ones.
j) Powering on with less hardware attached to the PSU. (Unplugged hard disks, SSD, etc.)
I was then told this was appearing because there was no GPU installed. (I thought that the Intel Xeon E3-1270 v5 CPU had one integrated but does not.) Installing a GPU made no difference though.

a) Remove the RAID controller from the 2nd PCI-E 16x slot.
b) Move the GPU from PCI-E 16x slot 1 to slot 2.
c) Try each memory module alone in DIMM slot 1.
d) Check for any bent pins on the CPU socket. (Didn't see any, attached photos.)
Currently I've been asked if I have any spare memory kits, which I don't because DDR4 ECC memory is not cheap. I'm wondering if this memory module will be sufficient to verify if the Crucial memory kit is at fault.
