Need additional info on X99 Gaming 5P's OC switch

Hello

As per title, this is about the OC switch found on the X99 gaming 5p motherboard.
Read the manual, but found no detailed information on exactly what it does if it's on; google-ing hasn't helped either.

- Could someone be kind enough to share?
- Most of all (i ask before i do anything, better safe than sorry), is said OC Switch linked with CPU upgrade? From the BIOS's UI? Or can i use CPU upgrade even if the OC switch is off?

The "OC switch" (actually CPU Mode Switch) should be disabled unless you are using a compatible CPU.  Haswell-E socket 2083 over the standard socket 2011.

Once OC Mode is enabled, six extra voltage settings, VL1 - VL6, are unlocked in the CPU Core Voltage Control tab of the firmware.  If you aren't using a supported chip, do not enable the switch.

Oh i see; got a 2011-3 Broadwell (i7 6900K), so i'll leave that disabled
Thank you very much for replying by the way, had tried multiple key word combinations, but all i got me was reviews mentioning the switch and extra voltage, the switch and overclocking, etc.. which didn't really help.
