z170 Gaming 7, Samsung 950 pro problem
« on: January 19, 2017, 04:13:19 pm »
I have a new build Z170 gaming 7 with Windows 10 installed on a Samsung 950 pro in the M.2 slot.

On a few occasions now after an bad shutdown of Windows, the 950 pro is not seen and I get the "select valid boot device" message.

When I got into UEFI/BIOS there is no option to select the Bootmanager 950 pro in the Boot Options or the Boot Override.

On each occasion I've eventually got the bootmanager option back but I'm not entirely sure how :/
Loading optimized defaults, save and exit seems to lead to the same message.
However if I do that, go back into BIOS and then shutdown/restart using the power button the bootmanager option comes back, I can't say that for certain but I think that was the order that worked on the last occasion.

It's still early days and I don't really like reproducing this problem, I'd rather have a working computer.
I'm just hoping someone more knowledgeable than myself might be able to shed some light on this issue.

I'm using the F7 BIOS atm and Samsung Magician reports itself as up to date. Windows is installed on a GPT partition

thx.
