hi
i recently purchased a GA EP41-UD3L because i troubleshooting issue with another board. after i sorted my original issue i decided to build a new system around the EP41-UD3L. however i'm having trouble keeping the motherboard temp down. in Everest its reporting the motherboard temp as 66 C.
my question is, where is the motherboard temp sensor on this board. is it located on the North Bridge, the South Bridge or elsewhere? most MB manufactures usually cut corners when i comes to chipset heatsinks and thermal paste. i removed both sinks (NB & SB) and scraped off the cheap stuff (thermal paste) and applied some AS5 to both. however i'm not convinced that there is sufficient contact btw then heat sink and chip(s) mainly due to the diagonal spring clips used on the sinks.
the only voltage i've touched is the CPU core voltage.
at the moment the board is relative stable (prime95 test 2hrs plus) but the temperature reading is concerning.
