Hello all,
I have 2 sticks of 8GB Corsair Vengeance advertised at 2400MHz. This motherboard defaults to 1333MHz.
I have enabled XMP to get them to 2400, but it sends my 4790K processor temps towards 100 when benchmarking. When set at 1600 the temps rarely nudge above 70.
I've been advised to increase the VTT/IMC to accommodate the RAM. Where can I do this? I cannot see anyway to set the memory controller voltage in either the BIOS or EasyTune in the App Center.
I have just re-read all the literature on the mobo and can now see that any RAM speed above 1600MHz is considered overclocked (O.C). I'm fairly new to tweaking so I do not understand the implications of this.
I would ultimately like to use 32GB of the same type, but I do not see the point if the mobo (or proc?) can't handle it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
