GA-EX58-UD5 - freezes, BSODs, wakeup issues - correct BIOS settings?

Hi,
I have a UD5 board with the F12 bios. i7 920 chip, and 6GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600Mhz memory, which has timings of 9-9-9-24.
Also a GeForce 9800 GT video card, an EMU sound card and a UAD-2 DSP card.
2x SATA drives, 1xIDE.
650W power.

I quite often get system freezes which I can't get out of. I have to do a hard reboot.
I'm also experiencing BSODs at times, due to a driver_power_state_failure error. These are usually when the PC has been left alone and has gone to sleep.
Another strange issue is that most of the time I can't wake up the computer by pressing a key on the keyboard or moving the mouse. I have to press the power button on the PC tower, then it wakes up.

Any ideas what the problem might be?
In the BIOS I set one of the options to 'Profile 1' as this set the memory settings correctly for me. The standard bios had it running at 1066Mhz, and different timings than are written on the RAM sticks. Is this a good idea, or could it be causing errors?

Sometimes on reboot I get a message saying the problem was due to overclocking. I'm not overclocking to my knowledge. I have Turbo mode enabled.

Any guidance on BIOS settings would be great.
