LAN/Ethernet Driver Issue

Using the GA-Z270XP-SLI motherboard with windows 10 64bit pro.

For some reason the LAN/Ethernet port isnt even recognised as a device in device manager.

The CD with driver on it doesnt allow installation of the driver as it says it is not compatible with the version of windows.

Anyone had this issue before?

Sorry have to ask..  is the device enabled in BIOS?  The NIC won't appear in the OS if its disabled in BIOS.  The driver will also not install.

PCH LAN Controller > Enabled
Network Stack setting > Disabled

BIOS is F1... updating to F6 now.

Right.  Thanks for confirming.  2 questions...  Is this a new build?  Fresh install of windows?  If no, stop here and perform a repair install of the OS.

If yes... continue

Please power off the system.  Unplug power to PSU.  Press and hold power button for 10 sec.  Now CLR_CMOS using the jumper at the lower right corner of the board.  MB battery remains installed during this reset.  Reconnect power, recheck BIOS config.  F10 to save and exit.  Check Device Manager for presence of Network Adapter.  If its not there, scan for new hardware.

If no joy, please perform sfc /scannow from a elevated command prompt.  If integrity violations are reported and fixed, restart and review Device Manager again.  If no integrity violations are found, try invoking boot from the back up BIOS.  Recheck for presence of LAN in DM

At this point, with no adapter detected or present, I'd consider replacement / RMA.

Last resort..  You can try flashing the BIOS.  50/50 chance of success / resolution at that point.

Similar to LAN issues, I can't seem to get the my Network Adapter to receive the connection from my Netgear C7000 Gateway.

We've (Cox and Netgear) determined the line into the house is good, the router is good and it seems to be a driver issue with my desktop computer only.  I hard wired my laptop to the gateway and I get the speeds I would expect; however, if I plug the same ethernet cord from the Netgear into my desktop ethernet port, I get low connectivity.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers from both Gigabyte and Intel for the LAN device.

Still getting 14Mbs Download, <1 Mbs Upload...I'm paying for 300/30.

FOUND MY RESOLUTION AKA PROBLEM SOLVED AKA FIXED IT

I UNINSTALLED cFos Speed.  This is apparently a program that "helps" direct internet traffic.  Well...it directed my traffic right to HELL.  Uninstalled it and BAM BAM BLAM WHAM POW!!!!!  Download and Upload Speeds are where they should be 300 Mbps down/30 Mbps up.

BTW - my gateway was the Netgear C7000  Gigabyte Motherboard Z270XP-SLI
