I've got a p3 based GA-6VX7-4X which has been serving as a test server for me. Its survived 2k server and 2k3. Its sat abandoned at present. I'll try load XP on it and see what happens.

Mobile phone pics arent too clear but i'll post the serial number properly as well.

Ok. She posts. (now i have thrown the 256mb stick that is bad. A single 512mb is left)
Running Memtest ok. Just need to install XP and get a screenie.

wow so potentially this is 9 years old?
Its a 1.2 revision board and SN is 0042529666

I cant see any date stamps on it anywhere.

yes GA-6VX7-4X is for sure much older than GA-8S648-L but you need to post all required photos anyway.

p.s. no need to provide any additional date stamps

 There you go. Looks like the 512mb is faulty despite passing a memtest. stuffing in some 128mb sorted it.

Amusingly? I've just replaced an old asrock motherboard (skt A) with a gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P and a nice dual core AMD. The daft thing is... The asrock replaced the original skt A Gigabyte due to blown caps.

thanks for the pictures. however most of them are not clear, unfocused totally. don't you have digital camera or just borrow from somebody who has it? it would be really great to see it clearly, especially the one with SN. And i don't have idea what is on the one you named as image032a.

regarding posting the pictures i modified your post to allow you to see how it works.
next time when posting links to images just use "Insert Image" button from the menu (it's the second one from left side, one row higher than smileys), then put the link to jpg file between "img" and "/img" in brackets.

Giving this a go as first time trying to post pictures on a forum. This motherboard was used daily untill couple of weeks ago but is still working as you can see from pictures (hopefully)

Wow. A Packard Hell machine... And its in good nick.

By the time i usually get one of these to fix they look like they have been abused/bombed.

And by the look of timing on articles... Looks like yours is out a few months before mine. Nuts.

Oh well, Guess the Gigabyte guys will be able to tell dates from the Serial Numbers.

Oh and i'll try post updated pics of mine soon. I have a web cam that might work for it. Just need some decent light to do it in.

not a bad machine its my mates but i am sorting him one out a bit newer than that one.a Socket A but  i am gutted thoough cos about a month ago chucked my GA-5AX in the bin typical innit which had an amd k6-500 in it with a whole 128mb of ram

heh, i had one of those a LOOOOONNNNNG time ago. had a k6-2-400 in it. i prised the top off it and clocked it up to 450. It wouldnt quite do 500 which was a shame.

I ended up with a k63-500 on it till i killed it chipping the core

chupo, it's very hard to see all of your photos, they are just TOO WIDE    not mentioning about the quality which is terrible especialy for the first photo
