Need suggestions about problems with following new installation.
Installed new H55M-UD2H motherboard with Intel i5-661 processor
Installed new Crucial DDR3 - 2G memory sticks (2) in DDR Channel 0 & 1 for Dual Channel Mem Config (Slots 1 & 3)
530W ps - tested O.K. and worked with another motherboard
Attached monitor to VGA output
Attached keyboard
Attached front panel switches/lights
Applied power.
System Fan runs. CPU cooler fan runs
5 leds on MB light continuously
1 5-sec beep
No video
After approximately 26 seconds the system shuts down, waits approx. 5 seconds and restarts.
Same sequence of events as on initial power-up repeats continuously.
Tried the following:
Checked for short on MB mounting. No short.
Checked p/s connections. 24-pin and 4-pin O.K.
Installed PCI video card. No change.
Removed Memory sticks and reinstalled only one...alternated both sticks. No change.
Called the US Gigabyte tech line and did all the same things again as they instructed. No change.
Tech support told me to return the MB and exchange it. Received new MB
Hooked up new MB as above. No change. Tried the above fixes. No change.
So I suppose its possible to get two bad boards in a row...but I prefer to think that it's me, not them. Does anyone have any ideas?
