Hi there,
To be honest there are not too many tweaks that you can do in BIOS to speed things up a lot. I have this Mobo and from pressing the start button on my PC to getting to the Installing OS screen takes about 30 seconds.
In BIOS you can change a few of the settings to help speed things up a little but, to be honest, the gains are not that great. Here are the things that might help:
Under Standard CMOS Features:
Disable the Drive A Floppy (Unless you are using a floppy)
You can also change the Halt On setting to No Errors but, this does mean that the BIOS won't stop the Boot process if there is a problem!
Under Advanced BIOS Features:
Disable Full Screen Logo
Disable HDD SMART Capability
Check that you have set the Hard Disk Boot Priority to the HDD that has the OS on it. and that this is also the first Boot Device.
Under Init Display First check that you have set this correctly for your Graphics Card. (If you are using a PCI Express card this should be set to PEG)
Under Integrated Peripherals:
If you are only using SATA devices you can safely disable OnChip IDE Channel. (Note: If you are running the latest beta BIOS you can't disable this!)
Other features that you are not using can also be disabled ie: ESATA Controller if you are not going to use this feature for external drives.
For your information I have disabled ESATA, SATA 3 Controller, Onboard Audio Function (I use a different sound card) Onboard serial port.
Another thing to consider is that the Boot process takes longer with each additional HDD or DVD/CD drive plugged into the motherboard, so if you want speed, keep the system down to the bare minimum.
Hope this helps.
