The ga ep45-ud3lr thread

Hi everyone

I've recently purchased a ep45-ud3lr
CPU is q9300
750w psu
1tb sata
4gb corsair xms2 twin2x2048-6400

looks like a decent board alltgough I havnt booted into windows yet!

I'm having trouble getting the above ram working or atleast I think this is why I'm not booting to windows

anyone out there care to participate in gathering lots of info about this board and successful ram installations etc?

I find the bios over complicated to be honest I've got a 1333 fsb CPu and ddr2800 ram and I'm getting confused at what speed to set my ram too ?
Do I need to allow for double data rate and enter 400mhz!?

Any input appreciated

Rich

Get the g-skill I showed you, I know it works because I have that board and had issues with OCZ ram..So I bought the G-skill and haven't looked back!

Sounds good.

Are those 1 gig sticks or 2?
I fancy loading this board up as it's got a huge capacity

just hope the supplier I've got to fork tonight has some in stock, but I guess so long as there on the list then they should all work fine

Sounds good to me! Asus has forums for each one of there boards! And I just replaced a P5N-D (asus) with the Gigabyte E45!  The Intel chipsets just run cooler than the Nvidia 750/80/90 boards!  Right now I have Q9550 bumped to 3.4Mhz  400x8.5  OCZ 4gig DRAM gold and on RAID-0 with Windows 7, 64. every things been running great!  I just keep wondering how better the RAID-0 is over a single disc?  I don't really notice a differance!
