Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AHCI Problem?

Hi guys, I have a small problem with my motherboard that is affecting AHCI controller.
 
It wont cold boot properly, it hangs on the detecting hard drives screen. If I reset the machine it boots fine, but everytime I boot from cold it hangs?

It cant be my hard drives or any driver issue because I have tested the drives in another machine and they work fine.

I have heard from other people that it could be the bios causing it so how do I fix it? 

Its a one of those wierd anoying problems.......

Hi,

You can try flashing BIOS with the latest version for your Mobo but be careful to download the correct version for your Mobo Revision number. Even if your BIOS is the latest version re-flashing won't do any harm and can help cure any errors.

I would recommend using the Qflash utility for flashing BIOS rather than @BIOS

Thanks for your help. I have upgraded my bios to the latest from F6B to the new F7, but unfortunately it is still happening?

Sorry to ask a dumb question but...... after flashing BIOS you did remember to load optimised defaults.

Another thing to try would be to completely clear BIOS (CMOS) by disconnecting your PC from the power supply, removing the Mobo battery, wait for a minute and then put the battery back and restart the PC.

Although you have tested your HDD's in another machine there could still be an issue there or even with other components.
Could you post your full system specs, OS and if you are over-clocking to help with further trouble shooting if there is still a problem.

Yes I did load optimised defaults.

I have tried clearing the bios via those methods, but it is still the same.

I have my cpu overclocked slightly to 3.6Ghz, but I have put it back to stock and it still hangs.

My system specs:

AMD 955 BE C3
4GB Corsair 2X2GB XMS3 1333Mhz DDR3 memory
Asus HD4850 1GB
Creative PCI-E X-FI Extreme Sound Card
WD Black 500GB HDD Main OS
Maxtor 250GB HDD Storage
Seagate 750GB HDD Storage
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

Oh yes, I can see you're using Corsair memory with this type of motherboard.   

Trying running the tool from this site (http://www.memtest.org/), you can make a USB stick bootable to test your memory.
