Error in AX370-Gaming 5, CPU led in red.
« on: January 11, 2018, 06:53:34 pm »
 Hi all.
It was time to retire my old phenom for Ryzen 1700x, but I have encountered a big problem.

My Specs:

·Mobo: AX370-Gaming 5
·Mem: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 (For AMD).
·CPU Ryzen 1700x
·SSD: NVMe SSD 960 Pro.
·Power: CorsaIR CS750M
·VGA: my old GTX 960 G1-gaming

not have boot screen, the CPU status LED is ON, all fans start..the monitor seems receives signal but there is no image.

I try:
·Restart: no change
·Remove Power: no change
·Removed all peripheral: No change
·Cleared CMOS and restarted: no change.
·Cleared CMOS and removed CMOS battery: no change.
·Cleared CMOS, removed battery and removed power for more than an hour: No change.
·Remove RAM and placed in each RAM slot at one time and each RAM stick was tested and also both channels (all possible combinations): no change.
·Reseated CPU, no change.
·Use main bios and Backup Bios, in dual and single bios: no change.

I have seen that I am not the only one with the same problem. those who have had it, how did you solve it?
please help :(

Greetings,
Frustrating situation.

-Is the RAM on the QVL for your board?
-Do you have another video card to test with?

The error LED indicates the CPU is not completing pre-initialization.  This doesn't necessarily mean it is defective.  You've done the recommended steps for diagnosis, but if you have faulty hardware or memory that is not on the QVL, CPU initialization at POST can fail.  Shipping BIOS (F3) supports all CPUs.

I'd try slower RAM (or RAM from the QVL) and another video card.  If this fails, I'd look at the CPU, then the MB.  If you don't have spare components or friends to borrow from, a good computer shop saves time and gets you the answers you will need to move forward.

Hi, thnks for u reply.
Hi, I've tried 3 different ram memories. The latest tested are F4-3200C14D-16GFX and appear in the support PDF of the motherboard.
The video Card is working in my other system without issues (AM3+).
I will try to replace the motherboard and the seller will send me a new one because I do not know what else I can try.

The CPU and MB are the only items which are left.  ;)  Please let us know the outcome.

Hi, Finally the solution: New MB... the new one started from the first attempt.

So a happy ending except for the time you had to spend replacing the board.  Glad to hear it.   :)
