It is relatively easy as there is a tool called ubu that can update modules in the uefi bios relatively safely. I also have tools to recover from a brick so why not.

new retail bios update 9FXAUD33.FDn  and new custom bios modified by me, this bios has not been released offically by gigabyte and is the last known version.

This bios has updates for compatibility with ssd drives and updated drivers .

I have created a new update for this motherboard with all the latest option roms and the latest microcodes to combat the Spectre and meltdown bugs.

Of note this gives a performance drop at the expense of mitigating these security vulnerabilities please see my post here:
