Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming 2.0 with GTX 760 issue

Hi All

I have just purchased a new PC....spec:

Case

Motherboard
Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming: ATX, LG1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs - RGB Ready
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3000MHz (2 x 8GB)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
250GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3400MB/R, 1500MB/W)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Processor Cooling
Corsair H100x Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Liquid Series Ultra Quiet Fans

I did not purchase a GPU as i wanted to wait for a bit to see what happens with prices of the 1070/1080 range with the new series coming out. I have a MSI 760 GPU which has served me very well and would do for a little while longer.
Basically i cannot get the 760 to display anything. I have tried many things:

Made sure 760 worked in other PC's
checked BIOS (is latest version as well)
Tried different PCIe slots on the board
Tried different PSU
Tried different PSU slots
Different power cables
Powering the GPU from another PSU while the PC was running from the original

Called support from where i purchased the PC and they suggest that the 760 is not supported by the board/BIOS.
Tried a friends 970 and worked fine.

I have now purchased a 1070 for nearly £400. Something i did not want to do. All i can think of if its a hardware issue is that the PSU fails under load as the 760 takes more power than a 970. My 1070 does not turn up until near the end of the week.

What i am asking is does anyone know of any issues with the 7 series cards with these Z370 boards or Gigabyte BIOS?

If anyone has any advice or has had any experiences like this then i would be very grateful if you could share.

No known issues I am aware of.

Its not your PSU.

The card would display a low power/no power error message at POST if it wasn't receiving required power.

  Hi, I am a newbie, but I have not been able to find how to start a thread/post on an issue I have with the same MB. Hence this comment on an existing post.
   The desktop PC has been working fine for a couple of months, but yesterdays boot failed with a message : no such device ( string of characters _ then a GRUB: RESCUE message. When I look in the BIOS pages the HDD does not appear in the boot order. If I press F12 at boot time the HDD appears in the list and it boots fine if I select it. Subsequent re-boots fail with the same error, so the only way forward is to press F12 at the boot-time message on the screen. Can anyone help please. It would be good if somebody could enlighten me as to how I can correctly log an issue .

Since your issue is unrelated, please start a new thread:



Based on the initial complaint, it sounds like you are using a Linux or dual boot configuration and the boot manager or partition holding this information has become corrupt.  Include more detail about your configuration in the new topic and we'll move forward from there.  This doesn't sound like a Gigabyte hardware issue, but instead a software problem.
