Gigabyte X399 Aorus 7 gaming rebooting on waking from sleep.

I have a problem that just started yesterday, when I put my computer to sleep and try to wake it the system does a full reboot (and obviously dumps all my work) the specs are below, the only major software update was to the latest Win 10 build (1809) a couple of days ago plus Aorus gaming engine and RGB fusion to the latest versions. My Mobo is giving me an A5 error code which seems to be -"Issue reset during SCSI initialization process"

Could anyone point me in the right direction? I'm at a loss.

Sounds more like a hard drive/ssd issue.

What is the make/model of the hard drive?/ssd

There are a couple of M2 drives a Samsung 960 EVO 500Gb and 1Tb. I upgraded to the latest drivers but it's still doing a full restart on waking from sleep.

I agree with geekyadz.  Likely related to firmware or driver.  Updating your storage driver might not be enough. 

Download Samsung magician and see if the drives FW is up to date:

Also be willing to try an (earlier or later) version of your video driver.  If you are overclocking CPU or memory, disable while you troubleshoot.

Further, review your system event viewer for errors which related or correlate to the behavior.  They might not appear of the system crashes and restarts when you resume, in that case, try disabling automatic restart and see if the system remains in a failed state which might provide more information on screen.

I removed RGB Fusions and Aorus engine and tried but it's still restarting. How do I disable automatic restart?

Uninstalled the graphics driver but it's still happening,  reinstalled Nvidia drivers and still happening.

Think I got this sussed, traced the problem to ntoskrnl.exe and one of the recommended solutions was to roll back any recently installed drivers, suddenly remembered I'd upgraded my M2 Samsung drivers so I rolled back and the problem is gone!

Good news.  Glad you figured it out. 

For future..  disable Automatic Restart...

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings (left nav pane) > Advanced Tab > Settings Button (Start Up and Recovery Heading) > System Failure (Heading), un-check "Automatically Restart" > Press OK
