GA-P55A-UDS - Configuring the SMART TPM Utility
« on: July 15, 2010, 03:06:29 pm »
Have followed the installation steps identified in the SMART TPM User's Manual including the activation of the TPM chip and installation of the Infineon TPM Driver version 3.6.  Installation of Smart TPM followed but could not initialize the Personal Secure Drive (PSD) using this Utility.  Fortunately, the Infineon application initialization function worked and a PSD is now available.  Smart TPM now provides the option to configure a Smart TPM Device which can be either a USB Drive or a bluetooth cellphone. I have chosen the former and obtain the following error:" the size of the USB storage device is less than 1Mbyte, please delete some files".  This error repeats itself irrespective of the USB drive installed or the amount of free space available.

Any suggestions?  Note that my bios is F10.

Please note I have never even used a TPM but from reading your description it sounds as if it could be a problem with the system format of the device. Does it require any specific formatting proceedure? It suggests that something went wrong during the installation of this unit because you said

so that makes me wonder if it installed right at all.

The USB storage devoce - flash drive - had been formatted in FAT32.  The Infineon TPM driver/application software was updated from the version on the GA-P55A-UD6 motherboard driver/utility disc (version 1.02).  The same problem occurs with SMART TPM with the earlier Infineon TPM driver.  The only other thing I have not tried is to return to an earlier Bios which has seen a significant number of updates since the board was released.

As I said I am no expert on these but I think anything like that would be worth a try. A suck it and see approach sometimes pays off.
