X299 Aorus ultra pro RGB ISSUE

X299 Aorus ultra pro RGB ISSUE
« on: March 14, 2019, 01:41:03 am »
got the new Aorus Ultra Pro X299 motherboard

now on the website it clearly states that my new case the CoolerMaster C700M case is fully compatible with the FUSION RGB elements on the motherboard

On the new case I have a 3 pin female RGB header cable, its got the word GIGABYTE printed on the cable

Now where on earth do I connect this 3 pin female rgb header on the motherboard?

there are 2 RGBW pins connections on the top and bottom of the motherboard, these have 5 pins on them

so i know these pins are reserved for led strips

there is also the D_LED digital led strip header, 3 pins on the board, i believe you can use the jumper to select the voltage.

So I assume the 3 pin female header cable that is marked GIGABYTE from the coolermaster C700M case connects to the male 3 pin D_LED header on the motherboard, well when i do this the led do NOT work on the case

so im confused, the case is on gigabytes web page stating its compatible with the mobo, yet nothing works

See page 33 of your manual, section 12

The DLED_V_SW header allows to select 5v or 12v operation of the D_LED header (3 pin) just below.  << Jump pins 1~2 for 5v, or 2~3 for 12v operation.

The LED_C1 & LED_C2 (top and bottom) (5 pin) are for LED strip extension cables. << This one is 12v 2A only

The Cooler Master website says it needs an addressable rgb header. Link to case: http://www.coolermaster.com/case/full-tower/cosmos-c700m/

I realise that I currently use an Asus board that also has rgb headers on it with 2x "normal" rgb headers and 1x addressable header, but surely Gigabyte also label/state which headers are addressable headers?

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what the difference is apart from the addressable header only having 3 out of 4 pins (on my board at least)
Nothing to see here, move along....
