That's actually helpful info. So you can see the MB is detecting but unable to use one of the DIMM sets (8GB).
If you are seeing this in the OS, it might have to do with memory management.
This could be a BIOS, chipset or software limitation and why using matched sets of QVL RAM is recommended. Boards used to be a lot more forgiving, and you could use higher speed RAM with lower speed modules together successfully in many cases knowing that the over all clock speed would be the lower of the two.
This is not true anymore. The BIOS and boards are tuned now for efficiency. Tolerances are tight to improve over clocking ability, power draw and heat.
The new RAM should take care of any settings. Worst case, CLR_CMOS will take care of it.
