PackardBell GA-8I915PM OEM motherboard problem

(1/1)

Raidek:
Hello, first of all, sorry for the English ... I'm using the google translator.

I have a PackardBell GA-8I915PM OEM board. I've done some research and found it to be analogous to this: GA-8I915P-MF
I have not found information of any kind on the internet about this motherboard variant.
The components and specs are the same, but if I try a Pentium D 925 ... it won't work.
My question is if I can install the Gigabyte BIOS from GA-8I915P-MF replacing the BIOS by Packard Bell.

Thank you very much and I'm sorry again for my English.

Greetings...

16 yr old board.

There is no way to know what's going to happen if you flash a BIOS from another OEM to your board?

Its a museum piece either way.

Raidek:
I think I'll try to get the latest BIOS from the original gigabyte board. If it works great ... And if not, then go to waste.

dmdilks:
Don't waste your time the 915 chip-set doesn't support "D" CPU's.

Here is a link the the supported CPU's: https://www.gigabyte.com/Ajax/SupportFunction/GetCpuList?Value=31&SocketValue=377&Socket=Intel%20Socket%20775&Chipest=Intel%20915P&Type=Chipest

What a silly mistake ... I did not look at the last column of the pdf table of CPUs supported by the GA-915PM-F. I only looked at the 1st column and that's why I thought it supported the pentium D.

Thanks a lot.
