GA-H55-USB3 with Triple-Channel Memory Module. Some Questions.

Hi, I accidentaly buy TR3X6G-1600C8 and it will delivered in 3 days while I can't cancel it (it already shipped)... In corsair website, it classified as "Triple Channel Corsair DDR3 Memory for Intel Core i7 9xx series processors"...

But the problem is I have GA-H55-USB3 rev 1.0 (updated to F6 BIOS) paired with Intel i5-750.

My old memory module is TW3X4G-1333C9A. I just want to upgrade from 4gb 1333mhz (9-9-9-24 default) to 6gb 1600mhz (8-8-8-24 default).

Question:
1. Will my system be able to boot and operate normally?
2. What is the best optimal BIOS settings for these memory module?
3. In which channel will it operate? Single, Dual or Triple Channel?
4. Which is faster: TR3X6G-1600C8 (DDR3 1600mhz with 8-8-8-24 in Single Channel) VS TW3X4G-1333C9A (DDR3 1333mhz with 9-9-9-24 in Dual Channel) ?

Thank you for your attention. Really Appreciate it :)

EDIT:
Ah one more question. For strange reason the motherboard volume using default single green 3.5mm jack is too low under Windows 7, but it is much louder in Windows XP. I'm using default sound driver and headphones (not a speaker)... Why?

Firstly don't worry it should work fine with your motherboard/processor setup. It should be able to use the XMP settings in the BIOS to make life easier. I will check to see if you can enable triple channel mode on your motherboard but I don't think so.

Thanks for clearing up the boot-up issue. My main concern is I just afraid that it would simply not boot because corsair says it's for i7 (while I have i5) :p

Btw, how to enable the XMP settings? I just set my BIOS at "optimal default" mode and doesn't touch anything in memory settings... I believe I can do something to optimize the BIOS memory settings? (as pointed in question 2 1st post :) )

Having just checked the manual there is no triple channel option as I assumed. That leaves you with two options
1) Use just two modules in a dual Channel mode
or
2)Use all three modules in Single Channel mode.

Is it not possible to return the memory once you have received it, especially if it is unopened?

You have to change the setting to Manual for the memory first then other options become available to you.

Thanks, I will try to set my memory BIOS to manual :)

About return policy, I can't return it because:

1. I buy from a local store
2. I apply a special order form because it's a rare item and they must preorder it only 1 item for me... If I just take an ordinary mass-cheap-but-slow ddr3 offers from them, I can return it because most people in my town will only buy that ordinary ddr3... They said if I return my rare items, they can't resell it... No one will buy my expensive-and-rare items...

I know it's my fault because at first I think all ddr3 is triple channel while all ddr2 is dual-channel << stupid isn't it :p

later after I preorder it, I just realize that nowadays only X58 chipset had a support for triple-channel :(

Having said that, which do you think is faster:
1. DDR3 1600mhz with 8-8-8-24 in Single Channel VS >> TR3X6G-1600C8
2. DDR3 1333mhz with 9-9-9-24 in Dual Channel? >> TW3X4G-1333C9A
^
^
same question as question #4 in 1st post :)

I also will try to benchmark it later... Right now  DDR3 1600mhz with 9-9-9-24 in Dual Channel are scored 7.5 in memory score in Windows 7 assessment :)

The first thing I would point out is that Windows assessment is very hit and miss. If you want to benchmark there are other much better programs out there.
With regards to the two different memory speeds I am not sure but I would suspect that the Dual Channnel would come out on top.

maybe WinRaR or 7zip internal benchmark tools should do?

Anyway, thanks for your helps. You really clear out my doubt, although I had a regret right now :p
