I suggest you open a case with eSupport. Also contact the retailer if this is an option.
Know however, that once you disassemble (which can constitute) modification you might forfeit any warranty claims or coverage.
While you might not be responsible for what you "discovered", you may have difficulty getting support for it.
As far as identifying the broken component, I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone else willing to disassemble their working card to get an ID from a component. Hope it works out for you.
