Motherboard issue with two CPUs
« on: December 06, 2021, 01:49:07 pm »
Hi all!

I have a problem, namely, I was assembling a computer for my brother. After assembling it, the CPU light on the motherboard came on. So for the sake of tests, I swapped the CPUs from my computer and both computers had the same problem. Unfortunately, after swapping again it turns out it's still the same.

My brother's PC:

CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
2x  RAM PATRIOT Viper Steel 8GB 3200MHz
Motherboard MSI B550M PRO
HDD SAMSUNG SSD 970 EVO 500 GB
SILENTIUMPC Vero M3 700W

My PC:

CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
2x  RAM GOODRAM 8GB 2666MHz
Motherboard MSI B450M PRO-VDH Max
HDD SAMSUNG SSD 970 EVO 500 GB
 SILENTIUM PC Elementum E2 550W

Two things here: #1 you should make sure the bios is up to date to support the CPU on your brother computer. The Ryzen 5 5600G might need a updated Bios for it to work.

#2 you should really go to the MSI Forums and ask for help. This is a Gigabyte forum. Yes we can try to help but they might be better to help you.

Looking at MSI boards both of them have updates July B550 & Aug B450 to support that Ryzen 5 5600G.
