Once the disk is detected, you can use shift+F10 and diskpart to clean, then convert the drive to GPT format.
I need to read up on the Z690 chipset. I wonder if W11 will at some point contain native drivers for the Intel VMD controller. As both dmdilks and Absic have indicated, this in many ways is a huge step backwards.
