EX58 - UD3R rev 1.0 High pitched noise when open audio applications.

Hello there

i already read some posts in the previous post from GA-X58A-UD3R about some mechanical noises and get no clue at all.
However this seems to be kinda different and have more than one problems.

I use my pc as a professional digital audio workstation, so noise means a lot to me.

Whenever i launch an audio application or anything uses audio, even youtube page. i have that weird noise from MOBO and also from speakers.
My audio interface is firewire so i suspect is something with this to do.
i tried to work it with my macbook pro and the audio device works smooth.
i tried to update BIOS from @BIOS app.

The other problem is that i cant access BIOS at all now to dibable the CE1T or any other sugguested features ,it just load windows normally.
That happen because it can't see the USB keyboard i got, when booting and only see it after loading windows.
I have to mention here that while doing the BIOS update i tick the reset BIOS option at @BIOS app. and also pull out the battery.
I am disappointed that i had to pay 200euros for a good MOBO and end up with this.

Hope you ll find a solution two both of these.

Thank you.

Firstly I would really advise against using the @BIOS utility. It is far to dangerous and it is much safer to use the QFlash utility that is accessable through the BIOS or by pressing the "End" key when booting.
It sounds like you have already fallen foul of the @BIOS utility but I don't get the part about pulling the battery. That is normally only done to clear the CMOS.
I would suggest that that is the path to follow now. Check our FAQ section for details on the procedure. Once completed you (hopefully) will be able to access the BIOS again. Post again when finished.

Greetings Dark Mantis,

first of all thank you for your interest in my case.

The problem is that i cant access anything in boot, the keyboard is not working at all while booting.
I have an MX3200 Logitech wireless keyboard-mouse combo and i have also tried with a classical logitech keyboard (USB) but still no luck.
(PS2 ports are not working, although the light of the mouse is lighting.)

That's the reason i tried with @BIOS to upgrade. You are right that is too dangerous but again i had no other options...
I think its worth to mention that i couldn't boot even before the update with @BIOS.

Tried to read the FAQ but as i saw, nothing can be done without using keyboard at boot.

I mentioned the battery in the previous post  because i tried a CMOS reset:

3) If above methods fail then you need to remove the CMOS battery (small silver disk) and then use method 2) and additionally wait for 10 minutes. Instead of waiting you can use a metal object like a screwdriver to touch the positive and negative terminals of the battery holder (NOT the battery!), making them short for 5 seconds. Replace the battery.

I got a message that post screen failed and some option were given there.
I weren't able to select any of them and i waited till the countdown. The option selected were "Last known good settings" or smthing like that.

I hope to find a solution on this one.

Thank you again
D.

Right well at least that is clearer now. You seem to be stuck. I was going to be clever and suggest the PS2 option but you beat me to it. I am afraid it looks like an RMA to me. :-\
