Fatbob I still think that there is quite a possibilty that you have bent pins on your socket. I have just been back through your initial thread and it would certainly seem probable. You have all the indicators. Can you take some macro photos of the socket so we can see properly?

I'd say let me try to help with settings before you RMA as it's may just be incorrect settings.

Also, as mentioned above, if you have your CPU out socket pics would be great so we aren't wasting time troubleshooting or messing with settings when you have bent socket pins.

Definately not the pins.

Had it out twice to look. Whilst faffing the second time I caught a pin and bent it.

So had to fecking straighten one :(

This only happened at weekend will post settings in a minute.....

Will have to reboot to check.

These are the enhanced Default settings from Bios FA
I use these same settings in FB.
But to enter these after flashing to FB I have to clear CMOS to stand a chance of checking or changing the settings.
Then sfte cold boot it goes back to 10 minute boot ups. If I add volts or change settingsa it boots fien then produces BSOD

BIOS FC1 is out now, it may be best for you to use that.

Here is some general setting advice for your setup using the settings you posted.

Also, when you get a BSOD, please try to make a note of what code it is.   It will look like this on the BSOD screen 0x00000124, or once back in windows it will show you the last 3 digits in a dialog when windows starts.

BSOD Error codes and what they mean:
0X00000050 << Incorrect Memory Timing/Freq or Uncore Multi
0X00000124 << Incorrect QPI/Vtt Voltage (To Much/Not Enough)
0X00000101 << Not enough Vcore Voltage
0X00000109 << Not enough or too Much memory voltage


Can you please provide me a link to your memory, either where you bought it or at Corsair's site.   Thanks, I can't find it at Corsair.

I bought them in the UK that was just a link to show the model.....

OK latest update

Updated to Fc1 BIOS
Wouldnt get bas the initial BIOS detections etc rebooted 3 times automatically.
If I pressed any key ie Tab to clear SCreen it rebooted. (these both happened in all BIOS updates )
Took ages to get past memory detect so I could enter BIOS setup.
As with all updates when BIOS setup screen comes on it flash/refreshes twice and I cannot alter any settings in MIT it crashes the BIOS.
If I load Optimized settings and reboot it takes 10-15 minutes to load windows and cannot enter BIOS setup/MIT.

If I turn off PC. Turn off Mains. Clear CMOS using button on Mobo.
Turn PC back on. It load a screen asking what Profile I want or to enter Setup.

If I enter setup I can do anything I want in Setup.
I have tried many changes and setups. But in all BIOS except FA it takes 10-15 minutes to boot to windows. But I do have the full 6Gb available.

I will strip the Mobo out of the case again after I have watched the footbal. (Man City fan and its only on ESPN or tinternet )
I will try to post a photo of the CPU socket

They say the board is damaged and will not accept it for RMA.

SO I now have £160 of doorstop !!!!!!!!
Will try agin to straighten it better but dont know if I can be bothered re building my PC for the 6th time or just go out and buy another brand of Mobo.
Luckily i hadnt sold my q6600 and 680i mobo and ram or I would of been foooked.

Sorry to hear!!   I always hate asking for socket images because of this reason, happened more than a few times, but we have to ask otherwise people spend weeks troubleshooting with no positive outcome because of bent pins that no one has checked yet.

Nice to see Gigabyte will RMA for you, did you tell them pins were bent?

Got mobo back from RMA

They repaired the bent pins for me PHEWWWWW

But unfortunately all the same problems exist

Havent resorted back to FA yet to see if RAM problem still exists but after cold restart all the old problems are back.

When I rebuilt PC it booted up great with FC1 BIOS that I had installed before RMA and after a cuple of restarts it still booted great.
I thought it was all fixed

After a overnight powerdown a cold restart today and Im back to square 1. Only clearing the CMOS allows it to boot properly and access to BIOS options
