Well good for Gigabyte for repairing the socket with the broken pins but didn't they test it afterwards? I would PM runn3R and ask him to find out. I really can't believe that they sent the board back without testing it.
Do that first and then we will take it from there. I will also try and find out if it was thoroughly tested whilst at the service centre. :-\

After reading your other post I don't think your problem is down to bent pins. But it is quite a common occurrance.

Well still having boot problems  :-\

sometimes none, sometimes cold boot, sometimes BSOD, sometimes WINDOWS LAUNCH REPAIR errors, sometimes the only way it will boot is to place my USB flash drive ( the one I flashed from ) into the USB port I used !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some strange occurances seem to be happening in the BIOS between boots ( I may be wrong )  :'(

Default Optimized settings dont seem to stay set from time to time  ???

Have you checked that the two BIOSes match, the backup and the main BIOS? A different version on each can cause this type of fault.

hi Bob sorry mate should have said.

To check, go into the BIOS and on the MAIN page press F9 for system info.   You should see both BIOS versions listed, if they do not match please update the backup BIOS to match the current.

To do that, reboot and where you would normally press DEL to enter the BIOS, instead press Alt + F12, this will flash the Backup BIOS with the MAIN BIOS contents.   Do not worry when you see a recovery comment, that is normal and means it is flashing the backup BIOS.

Got mobo back from RMA

They repaired the bent pins for me PHEWWWWW

But unfortunately all the same problems exist
(...)

Hi

Could you please kindly provide me with RMA number (UKA-...) which you received? This will enable checking the details.

Thanks
ZX-S & C64 are still my favourites ;-)

I have matched both BIOS's on FC1 Bios

Wouldnt boot first 2 attempts, restored to optimised defaults and booted

Will try over the next few days and report back

Once again Thanks for your efforts

This didn't work for me. But I'll try again.

By the way...Gigabyte answered my support ticket and sent me a new bios version - FC2

If anyone wants the zip file to try I can send it
