Well if it is giving you problems I would recommend that you revert back to your previous bios. They are both Beta versions by the numbers anyway.

It is usually because they go through some testing in the lab and then are let out in the wild for further testing as Beta versions, as they prgress they change numbers as yours has done and when totally stable and with the fixes incorporated they are transferred into final BIOS updates.

Why not make the final BIOS   ???  :-[  :-[  :-[  ???

Hi there, I guess the reason could be that what seems to work in the test lab doesn't always work in the big wide world. No 2 PC's are exactly the same and like most things it is sometimes a bit of trial and error before you hit upon the best solution, hence the BETA versions of BIOS. Whilst they appear to be stable and correct once released any problems become easier to spot and, hopefully be rectified. It's frustrating but a necessary step in the process and one of the reasons that updating BIOS is not a usual step to take unless you are having problems.

UPDATE: Curses DM you beat me again!
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
