GA-G41M-Combo F9 Xpress Recovery2
« on: September 20, 2010, 08:31:03 pm »
Q : After using the program Xpress Recovery2 from the Driver CD to backup the files, when rebooting the system why won't Xpress Recovery run by pressing F9 as indicated, the only way to run Xpress Recovery2 is by inserting the Driver CD and running it off the CD?

A : The latest version of Xpress Recovery2 has fixed this issue, please go to Utility section under Motherboard support and download latest Xpress Recovery2.

Same problem, but used latest Xpress Recovery2 Version 1.01.100901, also the same issue. Not working. ???
GA-G41M-Combo (rev. 1.3), Bios F3, Driver CD V1.6, 500GB HDD, XpSp3.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Who was it that gave you the advice to download the XR2 latest version?
Please don't take this as read because I don't use these programs but I thoiught that Xpress Recovery 2 was run from the disk. Maybe it is an error in the manual or wherever your saw it.

From gigabyte's products FAQ.

From gigabyte User's Manual. (I think all)
Accessing Xpress Recovery2
1. Boot from the motherboard driver disk to access Xpress Recovery2 for the first time. When you see the following message: Press any key to startup Xpress Recovery2, press any key to enter Xpress Recovery2.
2. After you use the backup function in Xpress Recovery2 for the first time, Xpress Recovery2 will stay permanent in your hard drive. If you wish to enter Xpress Recovery2 later, simply press <F9> during the POST

Well that seems to be clear enough. I probably only read the first bit about using the disk as I wasn't interested in using it.
Did you uninstall the first copy of Xpress Recovery 2 before installing the "new, updated, new and improved" version?

2nd, use the driver disk, same.

I ghost back XP, check HDD, still the same. :'(

In that case I am afraid I can't help you, but hopefully someone on the forum with more knowledge of this program might be able to. Good luck. ;)

I haven't used it either, but I know your BIOS must be compatible.   So are you using the latest BIOS?

If you are, you may not be able to use that new version and would have to stick with the old version until BIOS support is added for the new one.
