:) Happy Upgrade

:) Happy Upgrade

Well hello all,
First of all, I hav'nt got a question. I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the people who have helped me decide on the bits for my recent upgrade, to which, may I add, was a complete success. A special big thumbs up to the hard working mods on this forum, namely,DM and ABSIC.
So,the 'firstwave' of my budget upgrade is nearly complete and up and running.
Here's how it stands:-

Thermaltake X-aser mid tower case (replacing a Apevia Xploder)
Kingwin Mach1 800W Modular PSU (replacing a Colors 500W with dodgy leads)
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L Motherboard
Intel E6600 Core2Duo
Nexus FLC-3000 R2 Socket LGA1156/1366/775, AM3/AM2 cooler (replacing stock intel heatsink)
2 x 320 GB Western Digital Sata Hard Drives
Asus EAH HD4830 Card
4 x 512 4300 DDR2 Sticks (2 x 2GB Crucial Ballistix 6400 on order)
Aerocool F6XT LED Fan Controller (to control the case fans only)
2 X DVD/RW SATA

Everything went together perfectly, with no issues and although it may not seem a major achievment to most people on here, for my first upgrade, I feel proud that ive built it myself, and more so, that it all works :)
I have also managed to mildly overclock using the utillities in the Bios and it is running about 2800Mhz which has given me about 10-15% better results in Novabench and Futuremark Online VirtualMark.
Ive overclocked my HD4830 also, using the ATI CCC Overdrive.
Even with the mild overclock my temperatures have come down from 50* to around 38* idle, and from 61* down to around 49* when on full load.
And my system is a lot quieter as an added bonus.

So many thanks again to the guys on here who helped to make my upgrade a pleasing experiance which has give me a taste for the 'next wave', which will be either an I5 or AMD six core motherboard bundle, planned for early next year, when I save enough money for it.
No doubt I will be asking some more questions prior to buying so WATCH OUT lol.

Cheers DM and the guys

Hey, can't wait ;)

No really glad that everything went well for you and the upgrade didn't cause you any problems. As you quite rightly say there is nothing like the first time that you do a successful build on your own. And you even managed to get an overclock for a bonus!
See you soon you don't have to wait until you've saved up the money for an upgrade before you come back. ;D
