One thing that wold be worth checking is the pins in the CPU socket. That is exactly the type of problem that has been showing up as a result of bent pins. They are not easy to spot and if you have any difficulty take a couple of close up macro shots and post them here for us to check for you.

Took out cpu and checked every pin in the socket and the contacts on the CPU with a very high powered magnifying glass and could fin nothing untowards.

Well that's good in the respect of there not being any damage but it still leaves you with a problem. :-\

case fans, psu fans, and grapgics fans all  start together,  but with the cpu cooler fan tries, it shuts the whole thing off and keeps going through the same cycle over and over

What is your CPU cooler and how have you got it connected?

I think I 've just about had enough. I've stripped out the cpu, cooler motherboard, and Grafics card and thrown them all in the bin. It would have been cheaper and less streefull to buy one to my spec, atleast I couls insert it somewhere if it didn't work.

Thanks for trying anyway

Did all that , have dissconnected all drives, only connections were cpu fan, 24pin  connector, 8 pin connector, nothing happens if I take out the graphics card, so that has to stay in with its PCIe power connector.
Still no joy.

I'm glad that you came back mick and didn't just bin it all. ;) I think we have all felt that way at times.

I think that maybe you were on the right lines though and taking it all out of the case might be the best way to go. Make sure that you observe anti-static precautions.
Lay some cardboard or something similar that is non-conductive on the worktop and remove the motherboard/CPU/heatsink/fan/buzzer/one stck of memory and PSU from the case and put it on the cardboard. Now I know you haven't got any graphics but try and boot. The system should try and then fail emitting a series of beeps. Please post what sounds it makes.

Well fatman we did sort of cover this earlier but the OP was sure that he had built it properly so I sort of dismissed the idea, but I think it needs to be checked.

Hi
Problem fixed mobo screwed and now in the bin.
Talking into the tech guy who sorted it raised an interesting thought.
Well he says he has had loads of boards in with the same problems as I had, and they all have the same thing in common, ie all the power tracks to the cooler had urnt out!!
Yes I know we all have these wonderfull PSU's that can deliver massive amounts of power. but the problem is the mobo PCB tracks can't handle the current.
Everyone that he has done so far have had really high power fans in the coolers, and basically the PCB track can't handle the current load.
I suppose most people(me included) plug into the CPU fan socket, wrong, this is only OK if you are using a stock fan cooler. He advised that if you want to use a high power cooler take a feed straight from a spare from the PSU. Yes the fan runs at max all the time but so what!!
I'd rather it did that than over a period of time burn out the motherboard.
He maybe right or wrong, but is anyone else aware of the potential problems that can occur, not necessarly an immediate problem, but one that could occur over a period of time.

Yes quite right and something we didn't think about. :-[ How come it always seems so obvious afterwards. Mind you we always recommend running these big coolers and fans off the PSU directly.
