GA-H55M-USB 3 Unstable Bios
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:10:15 pm »
Hi.
I have some problem with my computer:
GA-H55M-USB3 rev. 1.0
Intel Core i3 530
MSI R5770 Hawk 1GB
Kingston 2x2GB 1333Mhz DDR3
Seagate ST3250410AS 250GB
BeQuiet 530W

I tested bios from F2 to F10. In F2 and F6 it's stable but from time to time, one on week my computer turn off and turn on again. Diffrent bios for example F10 - Windows started, working about 5 minutes and turn off... Bios settings default. What's that guys?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It is hard to say so far as there are so many variables in the equation. By swapping the BIOS so many times there is nothing stable to start with. It is quite possible that you have  another problem in your system that manifests itself on different occasions especially with different BIOS versions.

What cooling and case are you using?

Download and run Memtest86+ on your memory one stick at a time and for several loops. If you get any errors the RAM is faulty.

Yes this is strange to me. Everything is new from the shop. Stock cooler on processor. Temperatures are fine. I really check bios for example I have F2 now and everythings ok but if I flashed to F10 restart my computer waitng about 5 minutes in system - computer automatically turn off and turn on again.

Just because everything is new doesn't mean that it all works or is compatible. That is why I asked you to test your memory and what the temperatures are. I am not being funny but saying they are fine isn't helping me one bit. I need to know what the actual temperatures are when running. If you run the Memtest program and then post back with the results and temperatures I will try and help. ;)

Thx for help :) I tested ram in memtest for couple hours - everything OK no error. Temperatures processor idle 30 stress 50. Graphic card similary. No overheating at all. My computer is really "cold" ;)

Which slot is GPU in?

One more thing to check is the CPU socket for bent pins. Now I know that your system seems to be running fine at the moment but we have had a lot of these recently and sometimes it is down to bent pins. If you can't decide whether they are OK or not post a couple of macro(close up) photos here and we will check them out for you.

GPU is in first slot. Hmm I don't thik that I have bet pins but I will check this. Now I workin on bios F2. Just installed Windows 7 (before Windows XP) formated HDD. In bios set AHCI, before i was use IDE. Windows 7 working OK, gaming, watching films, surfing on internet no restart or turn off computer. Don't flashing to any other bioses right now.

I have solution! I put only one ram in first slot and everything working fine. This is some incompatibility with Kingston...

Often this is the problem. Memory incompatibility is probably the single biggest problem we get on the forum. For you information nin the future you said you

you must do it in stages not one big jump like that. It is less dangerous to do smaller steps. ;)
