G31M-ES2L: USB Devices won't power on PC
« on: September 25, 2010, 12:38:45 am »
I just built a new pc using this motherboard & everything works fine except I can't power on the pc or get it to resume from standby with the usb keyboard or mouse. A ps/2 mouse or keyboard will power up or wake the system fine, but no luck with usb devices. I've tried using the default bios settings, flashing to the newest bios, etc. & nothing works.

I've read about 5vsb needs to be active for the usb ports to remain powered even with the system off, but I don't see any setting in the bios or any jumpers for this on the motherboard. Is there anything else I'm missing or does this board not support usb power on /wake?

Hi.
Have you set Legacy USB Devices to Enabled in the BIOS? It may be that your PSU doesn't supply the voltage when in sleep mode for the USB to respond.
