For multi-core CPU's don't use Ganged mode.

•Dual-channel unganged mode, the integrated memory controller is detected by a processor as two independent 64-bit controllers.

BIOS Setting:
DCTs Mode
Allows you to set memory control mode.
Ganged - Sets memory control mode to single dual-channel.
Unganged - Sets memory control mode to two single-channel. (Default)
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

hello, i noticed only slots 2 and 4 are working, if i put 1 stick to slot 1 or 3, not working, this is the problem why dualchanel is not working. Is this a bioss bug or faulty board.
I have motherboard revison 1.3 and bioss F7, can i use bioss from 1.0 revision?

2 weeks ago i bought same motherboard for my girlfiend, rev 1.0, and works fine.

It could well be that the memory controller in your CPU is the culprit. If one of them has failed then you will lose the functioning of two slots.

Culprit means the "one who is causing the trouble".
If you tried another CPU and had the same problem then it wasn't that anyway.

i tryed every bioss, except F4, i loaded F4 yesterday and is working now, f3 is also working but not every time, had to reset system few times. Computer said it crashed becaus od overclocking.
Hmm must be bioss glitch, i will run some benchmarks to test stability

more findings: today, i tryed with my a-data ram sticks, and also working fine in all slots
I was running prime for 20 minutes,no errors.
i runed 3d mark vantage scored 9721 ponts for cpu, pretty nice for 90 euro processor
i also managed to oveclock processor to 3190Mhz with fsb set to 220, all voltages on auto, ram was 1456Mhz, i think very nice

Seems only bioss F4 is working properly, later bioss revision have GIGABYTE On/Off Charge function and agesa 3.7.x.x, and here must be a problem

ok, so i am runing F4 bioss for a few days now, and i think this bioss also have some problems with dual chanel, i got overclocking warning couple of times. This happend after i boot into windows. So i will try singlechanel again and see if that helps. I think i will just rma it.

If you are still having these random problems, it might be better to RMA the CPU, RAM & Motherboard and let your supplier test everything together as the problem is more likely to be the RAM or CPU rather than the motherboard.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Athlon II X4 635 requires minimum BIOS version F5. Not having the BIOS updated is probably the problem.

If you flashed the BIOS with the file from the 1.0 version you probably didn't hurt anything as the 1.0 and 1.3 versions appear to be the same.

If two memory modules are to be installed, it is recommended that you install them in the DDR3_1 and DDR3_2 sockets (Blue color).

NVIDIA GTS 450 Requirements
Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 22 Amps.)
One available 6-pin PCI-E power dongle
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

Latest F8 is working, great

Hey guys, I have the same board and I dont get a boot. Currently dont have a speaker, but I am thinking I have the same problem.

My board revision is 1.3.
My processor is a Phenom II X2 555 Black.

What bios loads with 1.3 and what do I need?
