An update on the situation would be that I have used win xp 32bit with that application I built there for a while without problems. But I am a bit concerned knowing that it might not be stable all the time. I have to install win xp 32bit on another hard drive, so i've been using the computer on win 7 64 bit, in dual core mode lately. Besides the thought about stability this is why I consider what I've done as a workaround, and not as a solution because I cannot use 64 bit OS-es, so I can't have 4 gb RAM available. (also any other os installation would have to be in dual core mode, I don't know if linux has the feature of setting affinity). So if there is a BIOS solution to this I'm still waiting for it.
