Dude, if you haven't bought this MB yet, then I would SERIOUSLY advise against it. I have had this for board for about 5 months now and have been suffering since.
I would gladly trade my problems for the whinning noise people speak of. Oh of a little noise instead of my headaches.
I have -
1. reboot problem, won't reboot unless left for about 10 minutes to half an hour to completely discharge. Even with the power cord disconected.
2. Often boots from cold with no graphics being displayed. which means you then have to leave it to discharge and hope for the best at next reboot.
3. Screen Goes blank in the middle of a task for no reason, system then may reboots itself if left for a few minutes or may just stay on with a blank screen dependin on its menstral cycle.
4. USB ports randomly stop working. Sometimes this can be followed by a reboot, sometimes not.
5. Boots up but USB ports may not work.
5. System stops responding for no apparent reason necessitating a reboot.
It takes about 3 days for me just to get the system up to working condition from a blank build because there are so many problems, failures and reboots that accompany it's operation.
So far I have tested changed all my memory, (Corsair XMS3) so I've not got 12gb double what I had originally intened. Brand new Original power supply Akasa Powermax 850 now changed to a new Corsair HX850 both great PSU's btw. Ive also swapped out my new GTX 470 for my old 8800gtx and all to no avail. I'm running he latest F6 Bios and drivers from Gigabyte and still no joy.
I really went to pains to research and get the best motherboard for my needs and it has turned out to be a lemon. Not to mention the cost. I really should have just bought an Asus. Don't get me wrong I don't have anything against Gigabyte, but for the price you pay for this motherboard, this is LAME!... and very problematic. Seriously! this thing gives twice as much trouble as my ex wife.
At any rate I'm going to try my luck and return it, failing that, i'm going to run over it with my car.
