Best way to lower temps on the top card in a sli set-up

Hi

As in the title I am trying to drop the temp of the top card in my sli machine. The temp is at 85 degrees after playing a game for a while. The bottom card gets to about 72 which is obviously a much better temp. Is there anyway of getting the top card down abit. I have the HAF 932 case and have tried changing the side fan to suck instead of blow but it is no difference.

I was going to put the second card in the bottom slot of the m/b to get more space between the 2 cards but i can not then get the revo drive in the middle slot....so any suggestions.......was thinking of selling the revo and getting a standard SSD but dont want to do that really...the revo is an awesome bit of kit.

I see 3 options:

Sure to work:

1) Replace GPU heatsink with something better.

Hard to tell if there will be enough of a difference:

1) Replace side case fan with 4 high airflow 120mm fans.

2) Add a fan between the 2 cards that will blow air near the top card's fan.

The other option is to watercool and that way you cna bring down the temperature of both cards at once. Of course you could always include the CPU too.

You could always add a fan to the side of the HAF 932 case blowing straight onto the top card or both cards. In fact if I remember rightly mine actually came with a 230 mm fan there.

Thx guys....these gards have very good coolers on all ready so dont need to remove them,,,,water cooling is more expense so its looking like trying to fit an extra fan in there some how.

Is there no software that maybe allows you to control the fan speed on the top card?...that maybe an option

You are quite right bytheway_r my bad!   I blame being so busy.

Actually having the side fan on expelling air wont really help the GPUs. You would be much better having fans blowing cool air onto the cards as both bytheway_r and I suggested.

The option that byteway_r suggested of removing the shroud is a feasible one as it allows more air to the top card with the cover removed.

The shroud is the cover for the fan and card but do bear in mind any modifying of the card will invalidate your warranty.
