2x4GB 1333 RAM for GA-P55A-UD3 - what are my options?

Can anyone recommend 2x4GB 1333 RAM for the GA-P55A-UD3?

I'm looking at getting Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9. Can anyone confirm that it works?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

You neglected to say what revision your motherboard is so it is impossible to say. However if you check the QVLs of both Gigabyte and Cosair you will find plenty of memory that is compatible with this board.

I haven't actually purchased the motherboard yet, but I'm guessing it will be Rev 2.
Proposed spec of new build is the GA-P55A-UD3, i5 760, and 2x4GB 1333 RAM.

I've already looked at both QVLs and there is no 2x4GB 1333 listed on either.
Do I have to go with 1600?

I'm pretty much sold on the Gigabyte board, and choosing the RAM is the only thing stopping me from placing my order.

The spec sheet of this board says it will support 4GB modules however there is no sign of any on either of the QVLs.

Spec sheet
4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR3 2200/1600/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules
Support for non-ECC memory modules
Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules
Go to GIGABYTE's website for the latest memory support list.

No you can use 1333 memory as above. There are a number of options for this on the Corsair QVL if you scroll down the list.

If you are dead set on the 2 x 4GB sticks I would suggest that you contact Corsair and ask what they recommend.

Kingston RAM could be a good bet if you go outside the QVL. I chose a Kingston kit (1333 CL7) and it worked perfectly on 2 different Gigabyte p55 boards (P55A-ud3 and P55-USB3).
You can also check this link for Corsair RAM certified (by Corsair) to work with this board. I see some 2x4 kits there too (such as CMX8GX3M4A1600C9).

I'd really like to leave the other slots open if I can.
I've got a thread going on the Corsair forum, it looks promising so far, but I'm waiting in the hope that a few more people will chime in.

The chances of the CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 working are reasonably good though right?

@ boglav, CMX8GX3M4A1600C9 is unfortunately 4 sticks.
I'd consider buying 1600 (2 sticks), but I'm really trying to build this new PC to a tight budget and 1333 would be ideal.
Do you have the model/product ID for the Kingston that you're using?

Sorry about that, I (as usual :) ) was too in a hurry to help. There is however a compatible module CMX8GX3M2A2000C9   DDR3-2000 (XMS3-16000 9-10-9-27*2CH)   8GB Kit (2 x 4GB)   1.65v   9-10-9-27-2, but somehow I think you'd be better off if you get feedback from people using the same combo you are planning to buy. I did, and it was a good choice.

I'm using a 2x2 Kit, KHX1333C7D3K2/4GX. Very good timings at 1333, and XMP support, no issues so far. They don't come cheap, but for my gaming rig they are perfect. I wouldn't go for 6 or more Gb of RAM unless they are really needed.

I've spend the last few days looking for them ...  If anyone has the same combo that I'm planning on using, they're keeping very quiet! :)

I do a fair bit of Photoshop and After Effects work, so although it's not absolutely necessary, 8GB certainly wouldn't hurt.
I can *just* afford to squeeze 8GB into my budget, and I just know that if I don't do it now, I probably never will.

I would think that there is an excellent chance they would work but of course there is  always a possibility that they wouldn't. The thing is with a bit of tweaking most modules can be coeced into working with a particular board but sometimes it can take a bit of trouble.
