Hi there,

It's hard to say if you will be able to drop a Phenom ii CPU in to the GA-M52L-S3P as there are lots of versions of this board. If you could post back with the Revision Number (it's usually printed on the bottom left hand edge of the motherboard) it would be easier to advise on the options open to you.

A quick look through the CPU compatibility lists seems to indicate that you will have a problem with an X6 Phenom and you might have to go with an X4

Well if its an easy uppgrade its just what im looking for before I start building my new MEGA Machine this spring

Hi there,

it's not always easy and you have to check that the CPU will be supported by the BIOS.
It would really help if you could give the Revision Number of your Motherboard as I mentioned before....

It's hard to say if you will be able to drop a Phenom ii CPU in to the GA-M52L-S3P as there are lots of versions of this board. If you could post back with the Revision Number (it's usually printed on the bottom left hand edge of the motherboard) it would be easier to advise on the options open to you.

because this really could make a difference to the CPU that you can upgrade to.

Hi,
Wow, lots of numbers but sadly not the one we really need.

It looks as if you will need to get out the screwdriver I'm afraid.  :'(

The motherboard Revision number is very important when you want to upgrade parts or if you want to update BIOS, especially when there are 4 different versions of the motherboard.
