I am using a GA-P55-USB3 motherboard with Intel Core i3-540 processor. I have been unable to stream Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio to my audio receiver. I am using the HDMI output of the motherboard to my receiver since both the SPDIF and optical out I know does not support bit streaming this high def audio formats. I have been successful to stream Dolby Digital via the HDMI output.
I believe that when using the HDMI output, I am using the Intel audio and not the Realtek ALC892. I also think that the Realtek will not support any high def audio format.
Has anyone been able to get this to work?
If not, and I need to buy a separate sound card, can I combine the audio signal onto the same HDMI cable?
Thanks
