Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R _ strange numbers in CPUID Harware Monitor
« on: November 23, 2010, 08:45:26 am »
hi
I just build a computer with a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R. it seems to work properly, but i have some strange numbers in CPUID Hardware Monitor:
it shows incredible voltages on the +12V and -5V rails : +12v= +5V , and -5V= -1V ... while the bios shows normal voltages.
how could this be ? are there any other programs i could use to read these numbers ?
is there a problem with my mobo ? psu ? windows (7 x64) ?

here's my set-up :

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
Core i7 950 Bloomfield (BX80601950)

Hi
It is obviously just a reporting fault in the software. If there was anything wrong even close to those figures your computer wouldn't even start.

Are you using the latest version of the CPUID software?

If so I would suggest removing it and re-installing to see if that fixes it. If not check on the website to see if there is a patch.

It's not something I have seen anyone else complaining about on the forum. :o

My first reaction would be to think of a corrupt download of the software. I would advise you to remove it and then download a fresh copy and run it again.

Secondly would be to check what BIOS version you are using and see if there is a newer one available.

What motherboard revision do you have?
There are newer BIOS versions for both revisions of the motherboard.
