Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 - memory issue - OCZ FlexXLC pc29200

hi everyone

i am having some problems with my memory modules at the moment i have 2 sticks of 1gb OCZ FlexXLC pc29200 ram.
problem is i can not get the computer to post at all - iv tried putting one in bank one and one in bank 3 that does not work i know that they are rated at (2.10v)  that is what it says on the little sticker not sure if that's 2.1v or meant to be 2.10v seems very high to me 2.10. i have even tried one of my old sticks and put that in the computer and set up the specs for the new ram including the timing's  but that does not work either.

i have installed the latest Bios for the mobo f8i (i think that's what it is of the top of my head) im also running an Amd Athlon 64x2 duel core.
if there is anything that i can try to get this to work i would be greatfull. the ram was an ebay buy and the seller who removed the ram assured me that it was working before removal tbh i think  he is telling the truth. just wanted to ask on here befor i go for the rma route.

kind regards matt.

Hi there,

the first problem is the actual speed of the RAM. It's rated at 1200MHz and the motherboard doesn't support this speed. You will need to pull it down to 1066MHz or slower if it will work at all.

Another problem is you might not get above 800MHz depending on which model your CPU is. I took this from the AMD website:
Quote
Type of Memory Supported
PC2 8500 (DDR2-1066)- (X2 7000 series ONLY)
PC2 6400(DDR2-800), PC2 5300(DDR2-667), PC2 4200(DDR2-533), and PC2 3200(DDR2-400) unbuffered memory
