Just bought and assembled a system with a GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) motherboard.
DVD-drive is visible in BIOS and on start-up, also in Windows.
When trying to boot from the DVD the computer restarts and if I'm in Windows the OS freezes and won't let go until I've opened the DVD-drive.
I got:
Motherboard: GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) with BIOS FD
CPU: Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-950
RAM: Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333MHz 6GB CL9
PSU: Cooler Master 750W
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit
I've tried:
* two different DVD-drives, one IDE and one S-ATA, both worked two days ago.
* four different cables (S-ATA & IDE)
* back to fail-safe settings in BIOS
* failing that, upgraded the BIOS to FD
Everything else seems to work just fine, I'm starting to wonder if the motherboard is broken in some way.
