Help with new build, won't boot (again) GA-870A-UD3

So it was the PSU then.

The message on boot up is normal it is just you don't normally notice it especiallly if the splash screen ids enabled.

I don't think you shorted it out or anything personally.

tmpin2 I am not sure about because they seen to swap them around on different boards but I do know that one is not usually used.

I'm worried about the MOBO being bad.

Stress testing and its hit or miss.

I stress tested overnight two days and no problems. Tried one more time yesterday and my TMPIN2 went over 125 C recorded in CPUID and my computer had an error message something about not enough memory. Not sure if they are related since I left it over night. Computer didn't crash but everything was running extremely slowly.

Ran memtest and the ram seems fine but scared yet again.

Going to try try to reseat the NB heatsink or find an aftermarket one.

Also anybody notice NB temps rise as network usage increases?

The thing is nearly everything runs through the Northbridge so it is bound to get hotter with more or less any use. They do run a bit hot on some models though and I always recommend adding a small extra fan to blow directly onto the Northbridge. It can make all the difference.

prime95 doesn't seem to bomb the system but heavy network usage drives my tmpin2 upwards to 125 C.

Reseated stock NB and added some MX-2. TMPIN2 still now starts at 79 and stays around 80 but network usage doesn't raise temps as high as before.

Blah might just buy a NB heatsink, forum searching tells me my tmpin2 is probably stuck. It does go higher if the temps exceeds the stuck of 80. At 125 I can't touch the NB.

Is this normal? I can't tell, different forums say different things. One guy said my tmpin02 is reading something else and isn't even connected to the NB.

System seems stable overnight memtest + 1 day of prime95.

I would still feel better if I had the correct temp but I guess I'll have to live with it.

Ordered a new NB aftermarket cooler, hopefully it'll fit with the 6870 + the Hyper 212+ CPU cooler I have.

I wish I could buy the upgraded Gigabyte coolers for the NB.

Stupid NB and stupid PSU. These two gave me errors up the wazoo. Mem errors due to the NB and boot issues due to PSU.

Hahaha system became unstable as soon as I closed the case.

My current airflow setup seems to bypass the NB HS completely.

Should have used the stock HSF.

Ah must find a good NB cooler.
