Audio Problem

Audio Problem
« on: December 25, 2010, 09:54:32 pm »
I have a S-series motherboard  support socket AM2 Nvidia NForce S560 GA-M56S-S3. After  re-installing  my Windows ( I still use XP since I don't like 7) I installed all the drivers that were on CD which came with the motherboard:
1.NVIDIA Chipset Driver for MCP65(32Bit)
2.AMD Cool & Quiet CPU Driver
3.Microsoft UAA Bus driver for High Definition Audio
4.Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

But I have no sound and no idea where the problem is,when I go to control panel-> Sound and Audio devices it just says "No Audio device."

Pllls, tell me how to fix this

Hi,

first thing to check out is, do you have the Audio Chip enabled in BIOS? When you are in BIOS check under Integrated Peripherals and make sure the Onboard Audio Device is enabled.

If it is enabled then try updating your BIOS to the latest version. You can download it from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2607&dl=1#bios Once you have updated BIOS load Optimised Defaults and see if that solves the problem

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
