Installed the new cooler, i picked up the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ and some Arctic Silver 5 - what a temperature difference! Sitting idle in the bios, the temp now hovers around 24!

Could it be that my CPU was getting too hot and causing freezing? I've literally changed everything out in this system except for the CPU and MOBO a this point.

Right now I'm running the FSB at 133, so the memory is running at 1333Mhz and the CPU at 2.8Ghz.

Hopefully this will remain stable.

Thanks for the help so far!

Yes it makes a huge difference with a decent cooler over the stock item. Fingers crossed that it will help your other problem too.  ;)
Dont be surprised if the temp drops even a little futher as the thermal compound settles in.

OK! I think I finally have stability!!!!! :)

Firstly, I manually set the memory stuff: voltage, qpi, timings etc...and everything seems to be working as it should.

Second, the "BOOTMGR image corrupt. The system cannot boot." problem I think is solved too! In the BIOS, I set the HDD priority to the system disk instead of the secondary disk I had in there to store my music and that seemed to do the trick!

Along with the Cooler Master 212+, I'm running cool and stable. (fingers crossed!!)

Did I use enough exclamation points?!!

Thanks all for your help everyone.
