All, thanks for your reply. It was solved as you mentioned. In fact, I tried the SSD firmware update at the very begining, but with usb-cdrom which can't run the Intel SSD upgrade program. It worked only after I used a SATA CDROM....

I am also waiting for the new MB. Fortunately, SATA0,1 are not affected. we can still be  with it so far. And I have my other HDDs attached to NAS.

There is no guarrantee that the other SATA2 ports will fail just an added possibility of them going down in time.

Anyway glad you got it sorted out and are back up and running for now. :)
