P67-UD3 BIOS Releases??

P67-UD3 BIOS Releases??
« on: February 05, 2011, 01:40:40 pm »
Can anyone on here from Gigabyte give me any info for future UD3 bios releases?

Firstly, with the reported cougar point problems will Gigabyte still be putting lots of R&D work into any future BIOS releases or are Gigabyte dedicating more time towards the new stepping to be released Aprl 2011.

From my experiences of my i2500k and UD3 setup i've come to the conclusion that the vdroop is around 0.05v - this is also backed up from others reporting the same vdroop around different forums.

I understand vdroop is something that occurs naturaly across the whole motherboard line, but the UD3 seems to have the most vdroop out of all the P67 motherboards available. Is the UD4 motherboard a much better motherboard than the UD3? Reson I went for the UD3 was because I only plan on running one GFX card so I took advantage of the lower UD3 costs.

If the UD4 boards handle voltage much better than UD3 then I will upgrade my UD3 so reduce the vdroop. Or is it a case of the UD3 motherboard not having as much R&D put into the new BIOS releases than the other P67 more expensive boards?

Cheers if anyone can shed any light on this matter.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Obviously the Cougar Point fiasco has set everything off ballance but it is slowly getting sorted out now. Gigabyte is still supporting all their motherboards and as such there will be new BIOS updates in the future. I am sorry but I can't tell when.

From what I have heard on the forum and other places the UD4 doesn't seem to suffer from the Vdroop problem to the same degree as they UD3.

All board are subject to exchange when the new Intel revised Cougar Point chips are released anyway.
